Hannity, Cruz Face Off for First Time Since Their Blow-Up Last Week
Ted Cruz appeared with Sean Hannity tonight for the first time since Hannity blew up at the Texas senator last week.
Cruz deflected Hannity’s questions about the delegate process and attacked Donald Trump, at which point Hannity blew a gasket and shouted, “Senator, why do you do this? Every single time––no, you gotta stop!”
Well, tonight, when Cruz appeared on Hannity’s show, they played things a lot more cordially and avoided addressing that tension. Hannity still asked him about the delegate process, but framed it as: “why are you so confident it’ll be a contested convention and what’s the strategy?”
Cruz made the case that no one can get to 1237 before the convention and his campaign is the one with the “tremendous advantage” over the others.
The second segment was completely focused on policy issues, and the way Hannity spoke to Cruz felt like they’d been able to patch things up already. The closest they came to addressing their feud was Hannity asking Cruz a broad question about party unity.
