Here’s that Giannis Antetokounmpo Bounced Pass Alley-Oop Dunk That Nearly Broke Twitter
The NBA All-Star game is known for over-the-top offensive highlights (and zero defense), and Sunday night’s game between Team Giannis and Team LeBron was no exception.
HOWEVER.
The 2019 iteration of this annual celebration of deep-threes and run-out dunks featured an alley-oop so outrageous, that it nearly broke Twitter as a result.
As one can see in the video above, the play started when the former University of Kansas player Joel Embiid stole a skip pass, hit a streaking Stephen Curry who then, impossibly, offered the bounce pass of all bounce passes that led Giannis Antetokounmpo to a high-rising dunk in which his head is roughly level with the ten-foot rim.
The high-rising “Greek Freak” shows off his world-class athleticism in this highlight but the real star of the show? Curry’s impossible bounced pass alley-0op pass. Might be the first in recorded history?
Shit’s crazy. And so thought many people on Twitter, which are presented below (along with many other angles of this play) for your reading and viewing pleasure:
The NBA All-Star Game features a lot of garbage time play, but unlike any other All-Star Game always includes a couple moments of athletic greatness. Favorite one? Steph’s “Bounce Lob” to Giannis (? by @Steve_OS) pic.twitter.com/MsRDeLKErc

I’ve never seen an alley-oop with a hammer-down bounce pass but that Curry to Giannis was exactly that.

The more I watch that Steph-Giannis alley the more I’m mystified by however the hell Steph managed to do that bounce

One more alley-oop to Giannis and Curry better get fined for tampering

You could get kids enthused to learn science if you used that play as a case study in physics, with force of Curry’s bounce pass, the arc of the oop, and gravity on the ball and Giannis. #oohandahh https://t.co/KXYRAOtWJh
