‘He’s Not Afraid!’ Watch Trump Lawyer Pontificate About His Toughness By Testifying in Fraud Trial — Just Days Before He Bailed

Donald Trump made it abundantly clear he won’t testify in his New York fraud trial today, and that’s a significant let-down from his lawyer’s adamant claim he was definitely going to be there.

Trump appeared in court on Thursday last week, where he railed against Judge Arthur Engoron and his legal foes for the umpteenth time amid his $250 million civil trial. The former president was supposed to appear again on Monday and testify in his defense, but on Sunday, he scuttled those plans while blasting the case again in an all-caps Truth Social rampage.

The trial will resume on Tuesday, though Trump’s refusal to show up significantly departs from what Alina Habba promised with his testimony. The Trump lawyer claimed on Thursday that he would take the stand today despite her advice against it, along with his recently reinstated gag order.

“He still wants to take the stand even though my advice is, at this point, you should never take the stand with a gag order. But he is so firmly against what is happening in this court and so firmly for the old America that we know, not this America, that he will take that stand on Monday,” Habba said Thursday. “He will open himself up to whatever they want because he’s not afraid. People that are afraid cower. President Trump doesn’t cower. We’ll be back on Monday.”

Clearly, times have changed.
