Hillary Clinton Surprises Barbara Walters for Last Day on The View

It’s Barbara Walters‘ final day on The View and to celebrate the news legend’s retirement, ABC is pulling out all the stops. For the first guest of the hour Friday, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton showed up to surprise Walters.

“You look terrific here. Why don’t you just take my place on the show?” Walters asked Clinton. “Then they won’t be asking you what are you doing next.”

Clinton, who has appeared on Walters’ most fascinating people list more than anyone else, didn’t break any big news about herself, but rather kept the focus on Walters, giving her some advice on how to relax in retirement.

“Who you are as a person is someone, no matter what their political views, you are someone we admire,” Walters told Clinton, “and to me it’s more than admiration, it’s very deep affection and I thank you for coming on.”
