Hillary Ducks Reporters’ Questions About Goldman Speech Transcripts by Attacking Sanders

Hillary Clinton was asked in two separate interviews today about why she can’t just release the transcripts of her speeches to Goldman Sachs. And both times, she quickly pivoted to attacking Bernie Sanders.

On MSNBC earlier, Andrea Mitchell asked Clinton why she can’t just release the transcripts. Clinton deferred and said she would look into this, but she is far more interested in talking about “what’s behind this.”

She argued “it was a useful exercise for me” and said what’s really going on is “an effort by the Sanders campaign to say anybody who’s ever taken a donation… is bought and paid for. That is absolutely untrue.”

And ABC’s Cecilia Vega asked her the same hours later. Once again, Clinton deferred the issue and pivoted to Sanders.

She called this “a campaign of insinuation and innuendo” by not just Sanders, but his supporters too.
