Hollywood Reporter: Rachel Maddow Extends Contract At MSNBC

It would seem rumors of an Olbermann-Maddow reunion at Current TV might have been a tad off base. The Hollywood Reporter reports exclusively Rachel Maddow has signed a contract extension that will keep her at MSNBC until “well beyond” the 2012 election. THR‘s Marisa Guthrie reports the new contract is set to be announced later today. The news would be a setback of sorts to former MSNBC host Keith Olbermann, who has spoken of luring away big names like Maddow.

As Guthrie writes, “by extending her contract, MSNBC seals (Maddow’s) status as the face of the network and also puts any speculation about Maddow’s future to rest.
