Holy Snit: Ted Cruz Calls President Obama ‘Faithless’

cruzfaithless-e1455828307303Texas Senator and Republican Presidential Frontrunning Possible Outlier Ted Cruz has taken criticizing President Obama for passing on Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia’s funeral to a whole new level. Just a few months after claiming that he didn’t want to “speculate on the President’s faith,” Cruz has apparently now formed a judgement about that faith.

At a campaign stop in South Carolina Thursday, Cruz blasted a scattergun of criticism at Obama for missing the funeral (although he’s attending the wake), planning a trip to Cuba, and of course for being a Godless criminal who’s destroying America:

We’ve got 11 more months of watching damage to this country. From a lawless and faithless president who is eager to travel to Cuba, but is unwilling to show up at the funeral of Justice Antonin Scalia.

In September, after an attendee at a Donald Trump rally called Obama a Muslim, Cruz conspicuously refused to say whether President Obama is a Christian, despite the President’s constant and public demonstrations and professions of faith. A poll taken at that time, and several since, demonstrate that questioning the President’s faith is good politics for a Republican, a fact that has apparently not been lost on Cruz. With only a few days left to close an enormous polling gap with Trump and achieve some separation from Marco Rubio in South Carolina, there’s no telling how wild Cruz’s swings will get.
