House Democrat Tells Jen Psaki ‘The 2024 Election is in Great Trouble for Biden’ After Dismal NY Times Poll
Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-WA) told MSNBC host Jen Psaki that President Joe Biden is in “great trouble” of losing the 2024 election to former President Donald Trump.
A New York Times & Siena College poll released on Sunday showed Trump leading Biden in five out of the six battleground states, including Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, and Pennsylvania. The only battleground state in which Biden had a lead was Wisconsin, by 2 percentage points, according to the survey.
In the previous election, Biden won all six of those battleground states by similar margins. Jayapal joined Psaki for an interview on Sunday to discuss how the Israel-Hamas conflict will impact voters’ decision at the ballot box.
I think it is important to recognize that we have a very divided country, as you well know. You have said that polls really don’t reflect where people are. I agree with you. But I will tell you, this is the first time, Jen, that I have felt like the 2024 election is in great trouble for the president and for our democratic control, which is essential to moving forward because these young people, Muslim Americans, Arab Americans, but also young people see this conflict as a moral conflict and a moral crisis. And they they are not going to be brought back to the table easily with, you know, if we do not address this.
Both Biden and Trump hold strong leads over their party’s nominations and will likely face each other again in the general election for the 2024 race.
Former Obama White House adviser David Axelrod also expressed worry of Biden’s poll numbers via X, formerly known as Twitter, where he flouted the idea of the president dropping out of the race to allow for someone more competitive to face Trump.
