Huckabee: Muslims Should Be ‘Begging’ Us to Come Surveil Mosques
Mike Huckabee said in the undercard CNN debate tonight that Muslims should be “begging” the government to come in and surveil mosques if they think Islam is so great.
Hugh Hewitt asked Huckabee if it violates Muslims’ First Amendment rights. Huckabee said no it doesn’t because houses of worship are public places that everyone can go to. He asked, “How does it violate anybody’s First Amendment rights that somebody shows up because they might want to just listen in and see is there something that is a little nefarious?”
He said if there’s anything untoward said, then the FBI can get search warrants.
Huckabee continued:
“If Islam is as wonderful and peaceful as its adherents say, shouldn’t they be begging us to all come in and listen to these peaceful sermons? Shouldn’t they be begging us all to come and listen and bring the FBI so we’d all want to convert to Islam?”
