‘I Don’t Need to Know All of This!’ Ana Navarro Revolts Against Jada Dishing on Her Separation From Will Smith After the Slap

Ana Navarro rejected the pervasiveness of celebrity gossip by sharing her dismay with the public drama surrounding Jada Pinkett Smith and Will Smith.

The View spoke on Wednesday about Pinkett Smith’s revelation that she and her husband have been separated since 2016, nearly 20 years since their marriage in 1997. This means that when Will Smith infamously slapped Chris Rock at the 2022 Oscars for cracking a joke about Jada’s hair, the Smiths had already been separated for six years at that point.

As Navarro and her colleagues talked about the Smiths’ dissolved relationship, she asked out loud, “Why do I know so much about these people’s marriage?” She then complained that it has ruined her ability to enjoy the Smiths’ acting works.

“I kind of feel like I know more about their marriage than I know about my own damn marriage! I don’t need to know all of this,” said Navarro. “I just want to watch reruns of Fresh Prince of Bel Air and Bad Boys… Just leave this out of my head!”

From there, the panel debated as they tried to understand why The Slap happened in light of this new context. This led to Navarro wondering if Pinkett Smith was dropping these juicy tidbits to gin up her public profile and help her sell her upcoming memoir.

“I think she’s I think she’s having a relationship with her bank account,” Navarro said, “because every time she needs to increase the ratings of The Red Table, every time she needs to sell books, she drops these bombshells. I find it unseemly.”
