‘Je Suis Confused’: Stewart Tackles France’s Hypocrisy for Arresting Comedian
Jon Stewart tonight noticed the hypocrisy in France celebrating free speech then arresting a comedian for anti-Semitic statements. Stewart really wanted to say “fuck that guy,” because his sentiments were pretty horrible, but he didn’t like the idea of government censorship.
Stewart said “Je suis confused” and explained to France that the United States is perfectly capable of allowing “shitty people to see shitty things.”
And then, in order to fully explain the dilemma and hypocrisy, Stewart put on a weird French film/puppet show with stereotypically French pencils.
