Jen Psaki Warns Democrats Against ‘Screaming’ Constitutional Crisis ‘From The Rooftops’ to Oppose Trump

MSNBC anchor Jen Psaki warned Democrats against using the phrase “Constitutional crisis” to turn the public against the Trump administration.

Recently, Democrats have called out President Donald Trump for upending the federal bureaucracy via Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency. Vice President JD Vance has suggested the administration should ignore court orders because “judges aren’t allowed to control the executive branch’s legitimate power.”

Moreover, top DOJ prosecutors have resigned after being order to drop the corruption case against New York Mayor Eric Adams (D). During a Sunday panel discussion on Meet The Press, moderator Kristen Welker asked Psaki whether Democrats should use the phrase “constitutional crisis.”

WELKER: Some Democrats are saying this is a constitutional crisis because of the deep cuts, because of the tensions we’re seeing within the Justice Department, for example, after it called for the case against Mayor Eric Adams of New York to be dismissed. What do you make of that term? Does it go too far?

PSAKI: Well, specifically, I’m not a lawyer, but specifically because the Trump administration appears to be ignoring the court order to get the money flowing again. That is the potential for the constitutional crisis. But my view is that is not the phrase that Democrats should be screaming from the rooftops every day. It may be we’re on that road, but you need to be talking about how this is impacting your communities. The farmers I’ll reference, the people who rely on Medicaid, the veterans, the early childhood education kids who are relying on that. That is what we should be talking about. What Democrats should be talking about out there, because that is how you connect what is happening in Washington with communities in the country.
