Juan Williams: Trump Bringing in People He Likes on TV Means He Gets More ‘Yes People’

A few days ago, Fox News’ Juan Williams talked about his network as a stepping stone to the Trump White House, and he made the same point again on MediaBuzz today.

Howard Kurtz walked through the last few days of Rex Tillerson-firing coverage and wondered if there was a bit of a “pile-on” happening.

Williams noted the reports of multiple additional people on the outs, particularly the report that H.R. McMaster is basically waiting for the President to officially make the call.

At one point, Kurtz made note of Trump bringing on CNBC’s Larry Kudlow and asked if the President is just “attracted to people who are good on TV.”

He also brought up the reporting that his own colleague Pete Hegseth is being considered for a Cabinet position, as well as Fox News commentator John Bolton being talked about as a replacement for McMaster.

And when Kurtz brought up what Williams said last week, Williams reiterated, “I think it’s a staging area for the administration.”

He continued:

“The danger here is that he surrounds himself with yes people, people who don’t contradict his point of view, ’cause he’s watched them on TV or he’s become accustomed to seeing them on TV. Any minute now Howie Kurtz could be in the Trump administration.”

As Williams laughed Kurtz said he’s never gotten any calls from the White House about a job.
