Kellyanne Conway Gleefully Says Trump Is ‘Taking Control’ of American Institutions: ‘Arts and Sports and Entertainment’
Fox News contributor Kellyanne Conway praised President Donald Trump for “taking control” of various aspects of American life.
Conservatives have rejoiced in recent days after Cracker Barrel reversed its decision to change its logo to a more minimalist design. Trump had panned the new design, stating, “Cracker Barrel should go back to the old logo, admit a mistake based on customer response (the ultimate Poll), and manage the company better than ever before.”
Conway hosted Friday’s Hannity, where she pointed to recent comments by the restaurant’s founder, who cast the ill-fated logo change in grim terms.
“If they don’t get back to keeping the country, then it ain’t gonna work,” he said. Conway’s guest went even further, stating that the failed logo change was “part of a much larger sinister undertow of our culture led by the radical Marxist left.”
Agreeing, Conway pivoted to Trump and the outsized role he has assumed for himself when it comes to the country’s institutions.
“He is authentic all the way, but he’s also, I think, taking control of these areas that used to belong to the left,” Conway said. “The arts and sports and entertainment and media and tech and culture. And look at what he’s doing at the Kennedy Center. Look what he’s doing at universities. Look at what he’s doing with sports. So, it’s super exciting.”
Shortly after taking office, Trump fired the board of the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C., and appointed himself its chair.
