Lafayette Police: Shooter Legally Obtained Gun at Pawn Shop
Lafayette, Louisiana police chief Jim Craft provided more information during a press conference earlier tonight about how the movie theater shooter obtained his gun.
Lots of information has come out today about John Russel Houser about his violent tendencies and history of mental health, and there have been lots of questions about how he was able to obtain his weapon.
Craft identified the weapon as a hi-caliber .40 caliber semi-automatic handgun and said that Houser purchased it at a pawn shop in Phenix, Alabama in February 2014.
And as the ATF relayed to them, the gun purchase was legal.
