Laura Ingraham Likens Kamala Harris Snubbing JD Vance to Trump’s 2020 Election Denialism

Fox News host Laura Ingraham scolded Vice President Kamala Harris for declining to give Vice President-elect JD Vance a tour of the veep’s residence.

CNN reported on Tuesday that Vance, who on the campaign trail called Harris “trash,” had not received an invitation to tour the U.S. Naval Observatory with his family ahead of his ascension to the vice presidency next Monday. Upon being elected as veep in 2020, Harris did not receive a tour of the residence from then-Vice President Mike Pence, who waited until Jan. 14, 2021 to call her and offer congratulations because Pence’s running mate did not concede the election.

On Tuesday’s edition of The Ingraham Angle, the host was indignant at Harris’s snub ahead of President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration.

“Not everyone is excited,” Ingraham observed. “Enter sore loser Kamala Harris. She’s bucking tradition and not inviting JD Vance to the VP’s residence before he moves in. She also went viral after posting a photo from Jimmy Carter’s funeral. Here it is. She’s in it along with Biden, Bush, and Obama. But the guy standing next to Obama? He’s cropped out. That guy was Donald Trump. It looks like someone still hasn’t gotten over November’s defeat.”

The host then welcomed Clay Travis to the show and proceeded to equate Harris’s snub of Vance by alluding to (but not stating) the fact that Trump refused to concede the 2020 election, subsequently tried to overturn the results, and inspired a violent mob to storm the Capitol. Ultimately, Trump boycotted President Joe Biden’s inauguration.

“Clay, weren’t the Democrats the ones who said Trump couldn’t accept the results of the last election, but they’re supposed to be our moral superiors I understand?” Ingraham asked rhetorically.

“Oh, totally they are,” Travis responded. “And let’s start with Kamala not inviting JD Vance to the vice president’s residence. He’s got three kids is my understanding. He’s got a wife who’s having to relocate all that whole family. Anybody who’s ever moved a family, it’s the bare minimum to allow them to come in and actually see the place before they arrive. It’s the height of petty.”

Ingraham then acknowledged that Trump did not invite Biden to the White House after the 2020 election, but the host said this wasn’t notable because Biden had been vice president for eight years.

“We know Trump didn’t invite Biden to the White House,” she said. “Biden had already been to the White House. Obviously, he was vice president. So, it wasn’t like he was unfamiliar with the White House.”

The host went on to note “another sore loser” in Michelle Obama, who will not attend Trump’s second inauguration on Monday. Ingraham called Obama “bitter.”

Not only did Trump infamously not concede what he falsely called the “rigged” 2020 contest, he spent weeks pressuring officials in states he lost to overturn the results. When that failed, he urged Pence to refuse to recognize the results as the presiding officer over certification in Congress. After Pence refused, a pro-Trump mob stormed the Capitol as Trump watched the violence unfold on television.

During the riot, Ingraham texted Trump’s then-Chief of Staff Mark Meadows to urge him to get Trump to call off the mob.

“Mark, the president needs to tell people in the Capitol to go home,” she wrote. “This is hurting all of us. He is destroying his legacy.”
