Lindsay Graham Compares Trump to Scottie Scheffler, Warns Putin He’s About to ‘Put a Whoopin’ on Your Ass’

Sen. Lindsay Graham (R-SC) tee’d off on Russian strongman Vladimir Putin Sunday night, declaring President Donald Trump is about to put a “whoopin’ on your ass” while comparing the commander in chief to golf champion Scottie Scheffler.

Graham made the bold proclamation on Fox News’s Sunday Night in America with Trey Gowdy when asked to compare the situation in the Middle East with the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.

“Putin wants to re-create the former Soviet Union, the Russian empire,” Graham told host Trey Gowdy. “He wants to take countries that are not his. In the mid-90s Ukraine give up 1,700 nuclear weapons with the promise that their sovereignty would be respected by Russia. Putin broke that promise. He’s not going to stop until somebody makes him stop. So Trump has been tough on Iran, he was incredibly dangerous but they’re in a weakened state.”

He added: “And Putin, your turn is coming. You know, Donald Trump is a Scottie Scheffler of American politics and foreign diplomacy and he’s about to put a whoopin’ on your ass.”

Later, as Gowdy asked what advice he’d give Putin, Graham said: “The game has changed when it comes to you, President Putin. You have played President Trump at your own peril. You made a major league mistake. And your economy is gonna continue to be crushed. We’re flowing weapons to Ukraine, so Ukraine will have the weapons to fight Putin back.”

Graham’s comments come as the president has seemingly lost his patience with his Russian counterpart, laying out an “aggressive” new arms deal with Ukraine a week ago.

Hours after Graham’s remarks, Moscow unleashed a new round of ballistic missiles on Kyiv, leaving two dead and 15 injured, the Associated Press reported.
