Maddow And O’Donnell Laugh At Chris Wallace For ‘Strange’ Jon Stewart Interview

It seems that everyone wants their crack at commenting on the conversation heard ’round the world between Jon Stewart and Chris Wallace. Last night MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow and Lawrence O’Donnell shared a few laughs at what they perceived was Stewart’s complete defeat of Wallace in the debate.

Maddow suggested about the interview, “I can’t believe that that went the way that Chris Wallace intended it to.” And she also expressed her disappointment that Wallace’s obsession with a liberal media bias proves “he’s a lot more like the other Fox News hosts than we knew, and not in a way that I think flattered him.” O’Donnell agreed joking “you could smell whiffs of the Fox News Kool-Aid on his breath.” And O’Donnell thought much of the discussion was filled with Wallace’s confusion and defensiveness.

The strange moment when Wallace played a clip from Comedy Central to prove some unclear argument of his was mocked even further by O’Donnell, who suggested Wallace should understand “the word Fox needs to defend in its title is ‘News'” while Comedy Central is supposed to be about comedy. Yet Maddow and O’Donnell smartly picked up on Wallace’s most embarrassing admission during the interview: he doesn’t find the show South Park funny! How could that be true when merely hearing Wallace say “Cartman’s Mom Is A Slut, Parts 1 and 2” is hilarious?
