Maddow Rips GOP ‘Chaos’ Over Gov’t Shutdown: Do They Have Any Idea What They’re Doing?
After the government funding bill, complete with funding for Obamacare, passed in the Senate, it went back over to “the place where chaos reigns” (Rachel Maddow‘s term of endearment for the House). And as far as Maddow could see, with an impending government shutdown by the end of Monday and the House taking the bill up on a special Saturday session, House Republicans have absolutely no idea what they’re doing.
Maddow brought up an “amazing photo” of Republicans looking nervous and perturbed that looked like their version of the Last Supper, calling them a “classical array of stunned and mystified.” Because the real problem here is that with a shutdown so close to reality, “On the record or off, no on in House leadership seems to be able to say what the Republicans will do.”
Maddow noted how Ted Cruz has personally lobbied House Republicans to keep fighting the good fight, even if it means defying their own leadership, only adding to the “chaotic stew” happening in Congress.
She concluded, “Do not ask John Boehner what’s going to happen, John Boehner has no idea.”
