Maher Rips Obama, ‘Cynical Turd’ Jeb Bush for Pot Hypocrisy

Bill Maher wound down his show last night with marijuana. No, not literally, but he did highlight how basically every single presidential candidate now has publicly admitted to smoking pot, even Jeb Bush and Ted Cruz. And quite frankly, Maher said, we can stop asking politicians these questions, because the answer will now and forever be “yes.”

But for most of these people, their excuse is “I was young and stupid,” a defense that, Maher observed, isn’t really an option for most of the young people arrested for drug use. He said, “Kids, if you’re gonna experiment, make absolutely certain that beforehand, your parents are white and connected.”

He honed in on Bush in particular, who called himself a “cynical turd” in school when he smoked pot. But Bush was very harsh on mandatory sentences for drug crimes when he was governor, except when it came to his own daughter. Maher observed, “That sounds like something a cynical turd would do.”

But Maher also had some choice words for President Obama, who he said needs to start “evolving” on pot just like he’s done with other issues. He argued that Obama should issue pardons for non-violent drug offenders and free them all immediately.
