Maria Bartiromo Insists ‘Very Important’ Jobs Report Proves Trump Right: ‘The Economy Is Doing Well!’

Maria Bartiromo celebrated the arrival of the April jobs report minutes after it was released Friday morning at 8:30 a.m.

It’s been a month since President Donald Trump announced a controversial tariff policy in a White House lawn ceremony he called “Liberation Day.” The announcement, and subsequent waffling from the White House, sent global markets into weeks of turmoil — leading only to more uncertainty and chaos. Talk of a looming recession from various economic forecasters across the partisan spectrum has escalated.

The April jobs report, which was mostly flat but better than expected, could be seen as a good indicator of where things stand, though it’s premature to expect the numbers to reflect Trump’s trade policy.

Bartiromo, who this week had a private White House dinner with Trump, was ecstatic about the numbers.

“With all of the hysteria over tariffs, we know the jobs are being created and it is much better than expected, at 177,00 jobs added to the economy in April, this proves Donald Trump’s point that the economy is doing well!” she said as she tossed to her guest Stephen Moore.
