Meghan McCain Demands Matt Gaetz’s Resignation for ‘Disgusting and Vile’ Sex Allegations: He’s ‘Probably Gonna Go to Jail’

Meghan McCain called for Matt Gaetz’s (R-FL) resignation and spoke of how the congressman might go to prison in light of his ongoing sex scandals.

The View came back on Monday after a brief hiatus, and they focused on Gaetz’s attempts to defend himself from allegations of child sex trafficking, solicitation, and other acts of alleged misbehavior.

Sunny Hostin and Joy Behar put some of the blame on former President Donald Trump, arguing that his scandalous conduct lowered the moral standing of the GOP and “enables this type of behavior” from Gaetz. Behar was particularly amused though while she reacted to Gaetz’s bizarre attempt to defend himself to Tucker Carlson, and the congressman almost ended up roping the Fox News host into his troubles.

After Sara Haines wondered how “these people [like Gaetz] get these jobs” in Congress, McCain answered that “any moron can get elected…Some of the dumbest people in American history are in Congress.” She said Gaetz’s scandals didn’t surprise her because “there have always been weird rumors” about him for some time, and then listed Gaetz among those who she thinks ought to leave office for their personal scandals.

“He should certainly resign in the same way that I think [Andrew] Cuomo should resign,” she said. “I think Eric Swalwell, who hasn’t denied sleeping with a Chinese spy, should be removed from the intelligence committee. I don’t understand why that’s not more of a scandal for Democrats.”

McCain continued by speaking broadly of public sexual misconduct from men, decrying it as “a violation for all women no matter the context.” She also called on reporters to disclose which members of Congress Gaetz allegedly showed naked photos of women he had sex with.

“It’s particularly disgusting and vile given that Matt Gaetz is on the floor of Congress showing it to people…I’m so sick of stuff like this and he should be removed,” McCain said. “There’s no explanation of this that makes any sense…The most likely scenario is that Matt Gaetz slept with a 17-year-old and sex trafficked her and he is probably gonna go to jail.”
