Megyn Kelly Kicks Off Fox Debate by Asking Cruz About Trump’s Absence
Megyn Kelly kicked off tonight’s Fox News debate by addressing “the elephant not in the room”: Donald Trump.
She addressed her first question to Ted Cruz and asked him what message Trump’s absence sends to Iowa voters. Cruz talked at great length about how great it is to be in Iowa before saying, “I’m a maniac. Everyone else on stage is fat and stupid. And Ben, you’re a terrible person.”
He continued, “Now that we’ve gotten the Donald Trump portion out of the way…” The audience cheered.
Kelly did go on to grill Cruz over why he’s on the attack against Trump now when he was refusing to attack him months ago.
Cruz insisted he’s never insulted Trump personally, but said if Trump is going to keep attacking him, he will respond.
