Megyn Kelly Panel Clashes Over Obama Campaign’s Repurposing Of American Flag Image

On Friday, Fox News’ Megyn Kelly invited panelists Mike Gallagher and Alan Colmes onto the program to offer their takes on the Obama campaign’s American flag-themed merchandise, which include prints where the stars on the star-spangled banner have been replaced with the re-election campaign’s logo.

Gallagher argued that the campaign is turning the flag into little more than a “cheap campaign prop” for profit, and that it shows just how tone deaf liberal Democrats can be.

Later, Colmes offered to buy one of the prints for Gallagher. “Can I burn it?” Gallagher asked.

Colmes pointed out that the last presidential candidate to do something like this was none other than Abraham Lincoln, a Republican, who placed his face on the American flag when he was running for president. He then warned against “idolizing” the flag, arguing that it goes against Judeo-Christian principles to do so. The two later argued over Obama wearing or not wearing an American flag lapel pin.
