Miss USA Incurs High Viewership Loss Following Trump’s NBC Feud
In the aftermath of Donald Trump‘s highly-publicized feud with Univision and NBC for his comments on Mexican immigrants, the Trump Organization has seen many of its business loses being tied to its famed beauty pageants. The Miss USA pageant aired on the less-known Reelz TV on Saturday, toping out at roughly 38,000 viewers on YouTube compared to the 5.5 million viewers the pageant saw in 2014.
Reelz has not yet released its statistics regarding how many individual viewers tuned in. However, the stream ratings suggest that the pageant did, indeed, observe a high business loss as a result of the exodus and widespread condemnation of Trump’s controversial statements.
You might think that after repeatedly defending his pageants and slamming his critics, Trump would take a night off of his campaign to support the contestants in person. Well apparently, no.
I will not be able to attend the Miss USA pageant tomorrow night because I am campaigning in Phoenix. Wishing all well!

Olivia Jordan started the contest as Miss Oklahoma before receiving the Miss USA title at the end of night. Jordan has not made any comments about Trump in particular, but the Q&A section was ripe with topics dealing with political correctness. Jordan ended up expressing a similar view to her predecessors and colleagues, saying that “race relations” was one of America’s most pressing current issues.
“We are still having problems and we keep hearing about new issues that are coming up,” Jordan said. “We really need to work on being an accepting society and being a society where every single person…is given the same rights and privileges and opportunities.”
