MSNBC: What If the Democratic Candidates Were Sandwiches? (No, Seriously)
In the post-Debate media cauldron, you can imagine the lengths to which every cable news channel has attempted to fill airtime with political fluff pieces. If something as silly as imagining what kind of sandwich Hillary Clinton would be seems too far out of the realm of possibility, think again, and thank the good folks at MSNBC.
Food & Wine put out a list of which sandwiches would be which Democratic candidates, and MSNBC brought it to viewers’ attention today, along with the actual physical sandwiches themselves.
Hillary Clinton is a Subway sandwich because it can be anything you want it to be; Bernie Sanders is something called a banh mi sandwich because it’s obscure and well-liked by hipsters. Martin O’Malley is a soft-shell crab sandwich on account of him being the Former Governor of Maryland.
But really, just look at this and try not to laugh:

On the same screen that is delivering a news ticker about a teen dying from blunt force trauma and a study about overdose deaths, viewers are treated to a wonderful visage of Clinton and a foot long. Welcome to the obscurity of Presidential season, folks.
