New York Jets Co-Owner Tells Fox News ‘People Don’t Know’ Trump Is ‘Extremely Compassionate’

New York Jets co-owner Woody Johnson told Fox News host Jesse Watters on Monday that most people “don’t know” former President Donald Trump is “extremely compassionate.”

During an appearance on Fox News’ Jesse Watters Primetime, Johnson spoke about Trump’s recent $50 million fundraiser in Palm Beach, Florida, which he attended.

“I think it was one of the best of speeches,” said Johnson, who served as U.S. ambassador to the U.K. during the Trump administration. “You know, each one gets better and better, but he really was was very relaxed with this group.”

Johnson then said about Trump:

He’s extremely compassionate, people don’t know that. He’s extremely funny, I think people are starting to appreciate his sense of humour, and he just impressed all of us once again, and I think the overwhelming thought was, “Yeah, this is just the beginning for us.” Everybody in that room was ready to step up hard, but it was really an appreciation.

Watters replied, “It’s good to hear that the party is coming together and coalescing after a lot of the division we’ve seen over the last couple of years.”

According to reports, Trump promised wealthy donors an extension of his previous tax cuts and an end to electric vehicle mandates during the record-breaking fundraiser, which was hosted at billionaire hedge fund manager John Paulson’s house.
