Pat Robertson Thinks Watching Porn or Horror Movies Will Cause Demons to Crash Your Car

This week, one of televangelist Pat Robertson’s viewers asked him if watching a horror movie may have caused her to get into a car accident after leaving church. “Did watching that movie cause a curse — or the Lord’s protection to be lifted from me?” she wondered.

Rather than assure the woman that watching a scary film couldn’t possibly have anything to do with her subsequent car accident, he relayed a story he once heard about a girl who viewed a pornographic film and became possessed by the devil.

“A few years ago I heard about a teenage girl who was demon possessed, and people began to deal with the demon and try to cast it out,” he recalled. “And you know what the demon said? ‘I had permission.’ And the permission was granted when this child had gone to some double-X-rated movie, or whatever it was, and had allowed this thing to come into her.” He must be thinking of those movies that have three X’s associated with them.

“I know this sounds kind of otherworldly, but that’s the way it is,” Robertson said. “So, could it have happened to you? Yes. I don’t think it did, but it could have.”
