Peter King Says Intel Community May Be Carrying Out Anti-Trump ‘Disinformation Campaign’

peter-kingCongressman Peter King went on a tear on Fox News tonight after Fox’s report on how an intel briefing on Russian hacking for members of Congress was cancelled.

He told Megyn Kelly that the cloud over the election is being pushed by the intel community because there’s no clear agreement on the motives of Russian hacking.

He was outraged over how there have been lots of leaks but then intel heads didn’t hold the briefing, going so far as to say, “It’s almost as if people in the intelligence community are carrying out a disinformation campaign against the President-elect of the United States. It’s absolutely disgraceful.”

And if it’s not them, he said, it’s members of Congress. Either way he wants the leaks investigated.

He also made it clear to Kelly that the first he heard of intel conclusions that Russian hacking was done to help Trump was when the rest of the public found out.

He said maybe there’s no assessment from the CIA about the motives and this is being done to discredit Trump.
