Price Is Right Model Speaks Out: ‘I Thought That Was It for Me’

When The Price Is Right model Manuela Arbelaez accidentally gave away a “brand new car” to a contestant on yesterday’s show, she thought she was going to fired. But after the clip went viral, the producers might just be thanking her for making the decades-old show relevant again.

Now, Arbelaez is speaking out in an interview with Inside Edition. “I was mortified,” she said after the show made her sit through the clip one more time. “I was on autopilot. After I heard the buzz I thought, okay, the game was over. What I didn’t realize was that she had two more chances.”

“I thought, A: This is my last day at work. B: They’re going to take it out of my paycheck every week. I thought that was it for me,” she added. “It’s the biggest mistake I ever made on the show.”

But at the same time, Arbelaez said host Drew Carey as well as the producers “could not have been more supportive.” Perhaps that’s because they saw at as an opportunity. Even though she made a “very expensive mistake,” she managed to get a lot of people talking about The Price Is Right.
