R. Kelly’s Ex-Wife Andrea Kelly Shares Emotional Story of His Alleged Abuse on The View

The View got intense today when Andrea Kelly spoke to the panel about the domestic abuse she allegedly suffered during her marriage to R. Kelly.

Andrea Kelly captured significant media attention months ago when multiple women leveled accusations of abuse against her ex-husband, and she backed them up by coming forward about her own alleged experiences.

Sunny Hostin asked Andrea Kelly why she came forward.

“It’s about saving lives,” she said. “You cannot not speak when someone’s life and what they’ve been through is parallel to yours.”

Kelly claimed her ex nearly suffocated her once, and also tied her arms and legs together on another occasion. She grew emotional after telling the panel that she nearly committed suicide.

“As a mom, when you’re willing to leave their babies without their mom, that’s the lowest low,” Kelly said. “The fact that I was willing to leave them let me know the best thing you have to do for you and your children to live is leave.”
