Rand Paul Invokes Paris Attack to Swipe at Rubio on Immigration

As he talked about the Paris attack today, Rand Paul touted his record on trying to make America’s borders more secure and swiped at Marco Rubio on that very issue.

Paul was one of many candidates who spoke at the GOP Sunshine Summit in Orlando today, and he said that with Paris on everyone’s minds, it’s important to be “extraordinarily cautious” about who’s coming into the United States.

He brought up how when the infamous “Gang of Eight” was working on immigration reform––including Rubio––Paul said he tried to propose extra scrutiny for people who come to the United States from certain nations.

And the told the Florida crowd, “Your senator, in fact, opposed me on this.”

He claimed that both Rubio and Chuck Schumer made a secret deal to block any amendments by conservatives.
