RNC Spox Praises Jared Kushner as an ‘Adept Negotiator’ Who Could Help End Shutdown

Speaking on MSNBC on Saturday, RNC Spox Kayleigh McEnany praised Jared Kushner as an “adept negotiator” who may play a role in helping to end the shutdown.

During a discussion, MSNBC host Alex Witt noted that Senator Mitch McConnell was noticeably absent from the most shutdown talks with Congressional staffers.

“You heard it said, Kayleigh, in terms of expectations, that a lot of this rests on the president,” she said. “That was said by the leader of the Senate Mitch McConnell, he was not, to the best of our knowledge in this room, so what are your expectations from this meeting that just ended?”

“I have high expectations. The president did stay over Christmas break and the New Year in Washington wanting to negotiate. He didn’t have a willing negotiating partner there. He has had several meetings. I’m hopeful with the group that met today, Mike Pence obviously the Vice President there as a leader, but also Jared Kushner,” McEnany said.

She then praised Trump’s son-in-law.

“I would note this, Jared Kushner is a very adept negotiator,” McEnany claimed.

She continued on: “As you’ll recall, when the trade talks were breaking down over NAFTA, it was Jared Kushner that really was able to pick up the phone and make the USMCA deal happen.”

She concluded: “This is a good group. If anyone can get this done, it’s this group.”

The USMCA deal, by the way, has not yet been ratified.
