Romney Campaign: We’ll ‘Focus’ On Obama’s Policies, Not 2007 Video

Kevin Madden, senior adviser to Mitt Romney, appeared on CBS This Morning on Wednesday, and was asked to respond to The Daily Caller’s release of the full video of an Obama speech from 2007. Voters will decide how they feel about the video, Madden said, but the campaign is focused on the president’s policies.

Asked about the video’s relevance, Madden replied, “Voters have to look at that video and have to make up their mind on that individually.”

The conversation then shifted to how the tape was teased as a “bombshell.”

“Well, I think that it was covered in 2007,” Madden said. “I think a number of folks will continue to cover it today.”

He went on:

How they cover it in that context I think a lot of that is up to individual voters and whether they think it’s relevant to the conversation we’re having today. We believe as a campaign, I think Gov. Romney believes, what’s most relevant are the president’s policies and how they are affecting people’s bottom line. That’s a much more relevant debate that we’ll focus on.
