Rubio: If Obama Could Take Away Everyone’s Guns, ‘He Would’

Marco Rubio today responded to President Obama dismissing Republican attacks that he wants to take away people’s guns as “imaginary fiction.” Rubio attacked Obama along those lines in reaction to the executive orders on gun control the president announced last week.

On ABC’s This Week today, George Stephanopoulos asked Rubio about that specific claim that the president wants to take away people’s guns. Rubio clarified the language just a little, saying “his proposal for everything is to infringe on the Second Amendment.”

And when asked again if Obama wants to take away all guns, “If he could, he would.”

Rubio said that none of the new things Obama’s proposing would have prevented the mass shootings the president invoked during his announcement last week.
