S.E. Cupp Is Baffled Why Sarah Palin Wants Clinton to Win So Badly
As the Donald Trump campaign teases a likely endorsement from Tea Party darling Sarah Palin, conservative commentator S. E. Cupp went on CNN to ask the question: Why does the former Republican VP candidate want Hillary Clinton to win the presidency?
“Frankly, as much as I like Sarah Palin,” Cupp said, “I’m just wondering why she wants Hillary Clinton to win so badly. Because I think if Trump is the nominee, as others have said, I think Trump gets creamed by Hillary.”
Cupp noted that while Palin had a lot of credibility with the Tea Party crowd, which is Sen. Cruz’s base, her endorsement was unlikely to convert many moderate or Establishment Republicans to Trump’s side.
However, insofar as Palin’s endorsement carried any legitimacy at all, she said, “any time the Trump camp gets the trappings of a traditional campaign, whether it’s an endorsement like this, or something else, it looks good for the campaign.”
