Scaramucci Serving as Executive Producer on Film About Paterno While in White House

While much of the focus on new White House Communications Director Anthony Scaramucci’s financial disclosure has been on his initial belief that now-deposed White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus leaked it — despite the reports being publicly available — there are some other interesting details to note.
As The Hollywood Reporter has been able to confirm, Scaramucci is one of the executive producers on an upcoming HBO movie about the rise and fall of football coach Joe Paterno. Al Pacino will be playing the role of the longtime Penn State coach.
In Scaramucci’s recently disclosed financial reports, he lists as one of his many sources of income the Edward R. Pressman Film Corp., which is a production company making the Paterno HBO movie.
HBO won’t say what role Scaramucci has now in the film — probably not much, though — only that he will receive credit as an executive producer because he brought in financing for the project.
The financial reports also showed that Scaramucci earned nearly $90,000 last year as a contributor at Fox Business and that he is an investor in another movie that will be released in 2018, but that he won’t be receiving a credit on that film.
The issue of financial disclosures and the money he’d be receiving while holding a position at the White House caused all kinds of White House drama. Besides essentially accusing Priebus of being a leaker over a Politico article based on publicly available documents, Scaramucci also threatened to sic the FBI on the former Republican National Committee chair.
