Sean Hannity Calls for IDF-Style Mandatory Military Service for Americans

Fox News host Sean Hannity called for mandatory military service for young Americans on Wednesday, telling his radio show listeners that Israel’s universal conscription model was a standard the U.S. should follow.

The comments came during a segment in which Hannity praised the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) after having met with members of the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews (IFCJ) on Tuesday to learn about humanitarian efforts amid the ongoing conflict with Hamas.

Framing Israel’s military draft as a model of national unity and resilience, Hannity said: “Israel’s safety today depends on the brave men and women of the IDF.”

Speaking to listeners of his Premiere Radio Networks program The Sean Hannity Show, the host continued, “Every citizen, by the way, is required to serve. I actually think we should adopt this in this country. It’d be so good for our young people.

He praised the IFCJ’s distribution of “humanitarian assistance and food and water and medicine and shelter and clothing and also things like flak jackets and mobile bomb shelters.”

“They are doing God’s work every day at a time when they are most in need,” he said.

Hannity did not suggest how such a system would be implemented in the U.S. or whether it would apply to both men and women.
