State Dept. Spox: Doc Proposing to Bring Ebola Patients Here No Longer Relevant
Earlier today, State Department spokesperson Jen Psaki dismissed the document Fox News obtained yesterday showing a proposal from State to send Ebola patients from Africa into the United States for treatment. Fox reported the document recommended medical evaluation for non-citizens with Ebola.
When asked about the memo today, Psaki said, “The document referenced was drafted by a mid-level official but not by senior officials. It never came to senior officials for approval.”
And furthermore, Psaki said that European partners are providing assistance and treatment to those patients, so the proposal laid out in the memo is no longer relevant anyway.
