Stephen Colbert Welcomes ‘Fresh Faced’ GOP Candidate Stephen Colbert, Teases ‘Major Announcement’
Last night on The Colbert Report, Stephen Colbert was lamenting the fact that the GOP presidential race was already basically over with every candidate who wasn’t Mitt Romney already having had their fleeting moment in the spotlight. Why weren’t there any more “fresh faced” hopefuls out there? In the middle of his despair, though, he became aware of the fact that he himself was currently polling at 5% in South Carolina.
Clearly, this changes everything.
Colbert joked about the fact that he was beating Jon Huntsman, a candidate who had once specifically courted the “Colbert bump.” Colbert’s explanation was that the bump must have reflected off of Huntsman and back to him.
“That happens in the rare instances where my guest is even whiter than me,” Colbert said.
Colbert then teased that he would be making a “Major Announcement” on tonight’s show. What will it be? We don’t know but we can only assume that it will change everything forever.
