Ted Cruz on Confederate Flag: State Issue, Outsiders Shouldn’t ‘Parachute’ in to Lecture
Senator Ted Cruz was criticized earlier this week for not taking a strong stand on the Confederate flag. Well, anyone expecting him to change his position will be disappointed, as Cruz told Fox’s Bret Baier tonight that it’s a state issue.
He praised the leadership of Governor Nikki Haley and said he understood those who view the flag as a racist symbol, as well as those who see it as part of their proud historical legacy.
“It’s wrong,” he added, “for a bunch of people who aren’t from the given state to parachute into South Carolina and dictate what they should do.”
