The Daily Show Learns What Russia Is Really All About: ‘Don’t Be a Pussy’

The Sochi Olympics are over, and The Daily Show‘s Jason Jones filed one final report from Russia to show exactly why everyone in the country is just so “crazy” and apparently auditioning for Jackass. The philosophy was summed up best by an interviewee who told Jones, “Don’t be a pussy.”

Jones saw how much Russians are like Americans (there was a vendor selling pirated Daily Show DVDs under the name The Daily Show with Tiny Jew) and spoke to a Russian activist who’s been monitored closely by the government. And then their mics cut out. Like, in the spooky someone-is-watching-you kind of way. And one of the Pussy Riot bandmembers Jones spoke to refused to go into detail because there were bugs somewhere around them.

Back in the studio, Stewart asked Jones how they managed to interview Mikhail Gorbachev. Jones revealed they actually found his number on the black market, while his producer showed exactly what lengths they had to go to.
