The View Pummels Andrew Cuomo After NYC Election Humiliation, Reveals His ‘Kiss of Death’
The ladies of The View pulled no punches as they slammed former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo on Wednesday, a day after his crushing defeat in the NYC mayoral election at the hands of Democratic socialist Zohran Mamdani.
The panel dove right into their Election Day takes during the opening “Hot Topics” segment, suggesting that President Donald Trump horning in some of the races may have led to losses for those he supported.
That, of course, included the race for Gracie Mansion in the Big Apple, where the president repeatedly rebuked Mamdani — whom he called the “Liddle Communist” — and backed Cuomo.
Joy Behar called Trump’s involvement “the kiss of death for Andrew Cuomo.”
Ana Navarro disagreed, saying that if Cuomo wanted to know what hurt his campaign, he only needed to look within.
“Andrew Cuomo was the kiss of death for Andrew Cuomo,” she said, adding, “Andrew Cuomo’s campaign was so stagnant I thought they were going to charge him with loitering!”

ANA NAVARRO: So that tells me that this was a resounding rejection of Donald Trump.
JOY BEHAR: And the Republican party. [ Cheers and applause ]
NAVARRO: You know, Trump was out there — well, Trump was out there last night in the middle of the night tweeting about how, you know, the election results were what they were because Trump wasn’t on the ballot. I actually think Trump was everything — everything pretty much was on the ballot. In New York, he inserted himself into this race.
BEHAR: That was the kiss of death for Andrew Cuomo. [Laughter] When he said — he and Elon Musk and Stephen Miller endorsed Cuomo, poor Andrew, that was it for him.
NAVARRO: Andrew Cuomo was the kiss of death for Andrew Cuomo. Andrew Cuomo’s campaign was so stagnant I thought they were going to charge him with loitering.
BEHAR: The thing about Andrew Cuomo, was though, he had experience running the state and Mamdani — people love him, but he’s run nothing.
NAVARRO: Andrew Cuomo was running like a 1970s, you know, old-school campaign and I think Mamdani was doing what Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez did, he hit the pavement. He caught lightning in a bottle. He captured the imagination of young people. He won a 2025 campaign. Now he’s got to govern.
