‘Transparent Ploy’: Stewart Rips Dems for Selling Out on Keystone

Jon Stewart has been on a roll this week going after Democrats, and did it again tonight, ripping Senate Democrats for being sell-outs just to save one seat that, even if they did save, would in no way affect the balance of power in the chamber.

Stewart, of course, was referring to the Democrats’ strange decision to hold a vote on the Keystone XL pipeline solely to save Mary Landrieu, a proponent of the pipeline, in a move that even Rachel Maddow found transparently ridiculous. Stewart couldn’t understand how Democrats were “willing to sell out” in an incredibly “transparent ploy” for something most of them don’t even believe in.

Stewart mocked the congressional fighting over the pipeline and how it failed by exactly one vote. And Stewart couldn’t help but take a few jabs at Landrieu, who was fighting for what she claimed were millions of jobs that would be created in a failed attempt that actually may have cost her her own job.
