Trump Dismisses His Retweet of a Mussolini Quote: ‘What Difference Does It Make?’
Chuck Todd confronted Donald Trump this morning about retweeting a parody account that attributed a Benito Mussolini quote to The Donald.
Trump said, “It’s okay to know it’s Mussolini. Look, Mussolini was Mussolini. It’s okay to––it’s a very good quote. It’s a very interesting quote, and I know––I saw it. I saw it. I know who said it, but what difference does it make whether it’s Mussolini or somebody else?”
The quote in question is “It is better to live one day as a lion than 100 years as a sheep,” and Trump finds it interesting.
And then this exchange happened:
TODD: Do you want to be associated with a fascist?
TRUMP: No, I want to be associated with interesting quotes.
