Trump Jr.: My Dad’s Not Putting on an Act, He Just ‘Talks About Things in a Certain Way’
Donald Trump Jr. appeared on CNN this morning to defend his dad over questions about top aide Paul Manafort telling the RNC he’s been “playing a part.”
He said he dad has to “talk about things in a certain way to be able to draw the requisite attention” to those issues (i.e. immigration). Trump Jr. said that the pivot going on is a “very natural progression” of him switching to appeals from the “broader audience.”
Tapper asked him if his dad means it literally when he talks about building a wall or if that’s also “playing a part.”
Trump Jr. insisted that “everyone else jumps on the bandwagon” when his dad brings up a topic––showing his father is one of the only people in politics who’s ever had “an original thought.”
