Trump Suggests After Debate He’s Audited Because He’s a ’Strong Christian’

trumpRight after the CNN debate tonight, Donald Trump took a victory lap of sorts in a CNN interview, telling Chris Cuomo at one point that he thinks his religion may be why he’s being audited.

Trump was confronted about his tax returns at the debate, since Mitt Romney made it an issue, and he started by insulting Romney again.

He then said, “I’m always audited by the IRS, which I think is very unfair, I dunno, maybe because of religion, maybe because of something else…”

Cuomo interrupted him to ask what the hell he’s talking about. Trump said, “Maybe because of the fact that I’m a strong Christian… Maybe there’s a bias.”

Cuomo seemed a little stunned by this, but Trump insisted that many religious groups have complained about their tax issues.
