Trump Talks Kanye West on Fox & Friends: ‘He Sees Black Unemployment’ is Low And ‘He’s Smart’

“Mr. President, we want to get to Kanye West.”

You knew this was coming. After Yeezy went on his pro-Trump Twitter blitz yesterday, Fox & Friends made sure to ask President Trump for his thoughts about the online frenzy generated by the rapper. The question came after Trump spent the first half of his interview with the morning show ranting about everything from “fake news CNN” to “liar” James Comey, so it was a welcome moment of levity.

Trump already thanked West on Twitter for his compliments, but he gleefully expounded on their friendly relationship today.

“I get along with Kanye. I get along with a lot of people frankly, but Kanye looks and he sees black unemployment at the lowest it’s been in the history of our country, okay? He sees Hispanic unemployment at the lowest it’s been in the history of our country. He sees by the way female unemployment, women unemployment, the lowest it’s been in now almost 19 years. He sees that stuff and he’s smart. He says, you know what? Trump is doing a much better job than the Democrats did.”

Fox & Friends and the president joined together by groaning about how people are demeaned whenever they say anything positive about the administration. Steve Doocy compared the Kanye frenzy with the recent blow-up over the recent comments from country singer Shania Twain, and Trump proceeded to ramble on about all of the support he’s got, his old electoral college riff, and everything else.
