Trump Tells Fox News, ‘Elon’s Totally Lost It’
President Donald Trump re-upped his attacks on Elon Musk amid the billionaires’ ongoing feud on Friday.
Despite a Politico report late Thursday night stating White House aides scheduled a call with Musk to smooth over matters, Trump lashed out at Musk on Friday, telling Fox News’s “Elon’s totally lost it.”
On Friday’s America Reports, Fox News Senior National Correspondent Aishah Hasnie reported from the White House, where she relayed some news after being asked about the chances of a Trump-Musk phone call happening soon:
I would say the chances are very, very slim to none. And that’s, really, quite frankly, coming from the president himself, who apparently is calling just about everyone or getting on the phone with just about everyone except for his old pal Elon Musk. He just got off the phone with our Bret Baier and told him this, that he is “not interested” in talking to Elon. He is not worried about any of these third-party threats. Elon’s been on X talking about, perhaps, “We should create a third party.”
And Trump also pointed to favorable polling that shows that there is strong support for him across America and also amongst Republicans on Capitol Hill. Of course, this all started because of the “big, beautiful bill,” and Elon is still trying to kill that.
And here’s a direct quote from the president this afternoon. He says, “Elon’s totally lost it.”
So, we don’t expect to see a phone call between these two men, at least not today. We shall see where this goes.
Earlier in the day, the president told CNN’s Dana Bash, “The poor guy’s got a problem,” an apparent reference to Musk’s alleged frequent use of the drug, ketamine.
This week, Musk, who spent nearly $300 million to return Trump to the White House, publicly opposed the president’s “big, beautiful bill” being considered in the Senate, calling it “a disgusting abomination.” On Truth Social on Thursday, Trump said Musk had been “wearing thin” as the head of the “Department of Government Efficiency” and claimed Musk “went CRAZY” when the president asked him to leave the government when his term as a special government employee ended. Musk, in turn, said Trump should be impeached and claimed the president is in the files of deceased child sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein. Trump also threatened to cancel federal contracts with Musk’s SpaceX.
On Friday, Fox News also reported that Trump plans to take the Tesla he bought and either give it away or sell it.
