U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro Appeals to Fox News Viewers To Join Her Office: ‘Contact Me At…’
U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro returned to Fox News for the first time since she left the network to be the top federal prosecutor in Washington, D.C. While doing so, she said her office is “down 90 prosecutors” and appealed to viewers to apply.
Pirro left her job as co-host of The Five on Fox News in May after President Donald Trump appointed her acting D.C. U.S. Attorney. The Senate confirmed her on Saturday.
Appearing on Wednesday’s edition of The Ingraham Angle, Pirro was asked about reported staffing shortages in the D.C. U.S. Attorney’s office.
“I’ve been hearing from my sources at the DOJ that there is a very, very big problem with staffing,” Laura Ingraham said. “Assistant attorney generals on down saying, ‘We have great plans, we’re doing great things. But we’re down like two-thirds staff. What’s going on?”
“Yeah, I’m down 90 prosecutors,” Pirro said. “Sixty investigators and paralegals.”
“Why?” the host asked.
In her response, Pirro appealed to viewers and encouraged them to contact her directly if they want to work for her.
“Because nobody cared. I’m telling you right now, nobody cared enough to make sure that office was running. I’m gonna have that office running,” she said before looking into the camera. “If you want a job in the nation’s capital in the premier office, the largest U.S. Attorney’s office, contact me at Jeanine.Pirro@USDOJ.gov.”
Shortly after becoming acting U.S. Attorney in May, Pirro posted a video from her office to complain about the drinking water situation.
“[T]he U.S. attorneys, as well as the staff, in order to get water, they have to join a water club and they have to pay,” she said. “Today there was no water delivered to the United States Attorney’s Office. And remember, it’s only for those who pay $7 a month. Now, ain’t it grand to be a part of the government, and I’m just thrilled to be here.”
